Each term we work on a variety of topics as defined by The National Curriculum. This Autumn we will be looking at myself, harvest, preparation for a baby and birth/visitors/Christmas.

In the Spring we'll be woking on opposites and houses and homes and in the Summer we'll be studying growth, change, new life, summer pastimes and contrasting geography.

In reception, there are a variety of different online activites that children can play to help them both at school and also whilst at home. Please click on an activity below . These will be updated regularly.

We have been looking at how people prepare for the birth of a baby in our RE lessons in preparation for our Christmas Nativity when we look at the birth of the Baby Jesus. We have been learning about how much love, care, support and attention a baby needs 24 hours a day. We were lucky enough to welcome a visitor into school to help us to understand a little more.

Mr Hindhaugh, our Year 3 teacher, has just become a father for the first time. Freya Nancy Hindhaugh was born on Wednesday 13th September at 3.50am and weighed 5lbs 110z. Freya's mummy, Mrs Hindhaugh, very kindly agreed to bring baby Freya into our class to show us what is needed to look after a baby.

Whilst Freya was in our class, she became hungry and needed some food. Freya needs feeding about every 2-3 hours in the daytime but goes a lot longer at night. Freya has milk from a bottle and drinks about 3ozs at a time. After she has her food, she needs winding to make sure that she doesn't get a sore tummy. Freya's favourite position for being winded is to be bounced up and down on her daddy's knee.

Freya is now nearly 9 weeks old on this picture and is starting to smile on a regular basis. She displays a lot of different facial expressions and is a very alert baby.

Reception children performed their Christmas Nativity for the rest of the school on Wednesday 20th December. Here are a selection of photographs of the children in costume.
