Welcome to Year 3's web page.
"There are examples of good, imaginative teaching promoting learning very effectively. In a Year 3 lesson, for instance, a video link with another school helped to explain a mathematics problem. All pupils were very well motivated and keen to solve the problem ‘before they do.’" (OFSTED, 2006)
Year 3 have very strong and close links to a number of First Schools in the Stone Pyramid through our Video Conferencing. Oulton First School in Oulton and Tittensor First School in Tittensor are 2 of the schools that we work closely with.
Click here for the weekly spelling lists and also to visit the children's work. This will be updated on a regular basis, so be sure to visit as often as possible.
Each term we work on a variety of topics as defined by The National Curriculum. This is what we're doing this year:
Monday Afternoons – Year 3 and Year 4 will be studying French, Recorders and music with specialist teachers.
Wednesday mornings – Year 3 and Year 4 will be grouped depending on ability and taught Extended Writing.
