Our children are offered the opportunity to develop an interest in playing the recorder, joining the choir, using the computer, learning French or playing football after school. Occasionally, other activities are also offered to the children depending on the season – drama, country dancing, skittle ball, and other sports in the summer months. These activities are conducted voluntarily by staff, with the exception of French Club which is run by a local French teacher.

Football Club is where 15 children, boys and girls, meet on the playground from 3.30pm – 4.15pm every Tuesday Evening. It provides the children with the opportunity to continue their development of the skills needed for football as well as enhancing the importance of working as part of a team. It also enables the manager, Mr Hindhaugh, to select players to represent the school in tournaments and matches against local schools. In 2004 -2005, Christ Church took part in tournaments at Leasowes Primary School, Stafford and Pirehill First School in Stone. They also played friendly matches against Oulton, St Michaels and Tittensor first schools. Come and have a look at us in action!

Computer club is a very popular club with over 25 children applying for the opening 6 places of the new term. The application process is children’s names drawn out of the hat and the other children are then chosen over the next half terms. The children at computer club enjoy partaking in a range of different activities. The school subscribe to Espresso so the children can entertain themselves using the many different video clips and activities available to them. They are also asked to design fliers and posters to advertise various events that are happening in the school. These range from harvest festivals, operation Christmas child, concerts and sports day. The children will use software such as Microsoft Publisher, Word or Colour Magic. Come and see what we do at computer club.

Similar to computer club, the children are selected on a first come first served basis with the remaining children chosen for alternative dates. Come and have a look at some of the things that we have made.

Violins - Children are lucky enough to be able to call upon the expertise of Mr Davies who is our violin tutor. The children practise every Thursday evening and are asked to perform at various school events including the Year 4 leavers service.
French Club - This is on a Wednesday evening and is taught by Michelle our French specialist. French is now also on our school curriculum and is taught on a Monday afternoon to Years 2, 3 and 4 as part of the Government PPA time. The children love speaking in another language and are often heard answering the register with a ‘Bonjour’.
Our Choir has it's very own page - click on the dark green link at the top of the page to find out more.
